CRS 1.0 - Critical Rotational Speed calculator
-
Finite element method based program.
- Coding is done (08 Mar. 2007).
- Windows user interface is added -- user
friendly !
- Input 8 parameters as shown left, then the
program will determine the critical rotational speed for you.
- A
convenient file I/O utility is made, user could store the analysis cases
for later run. Some sample input files are included in the installation
file (zip file actually :-) unzip and the installation is done).
- Help
button is added just hit the button for instructions of how to use.
- It
is ideal for shaft designers, because now user can fine-tune the input
data by trial and error and obtain the critical rpms in less than a
second.
- Currently only one basic type of shaft is available.
more to come in the subsequent version !

TurboSmith 1.3 - Gas Turbine Cycle
Analysis for Model Jet Engine Builder
-
Based on advanced gas turbine theory .
- Ram drag and ram recovery analysis capability.
- 1. turbojet 1-spool (with generator),
2. turbojet 2-spool,
3. turboshaft 2-spool,
4. turbofan 2-spool unmixed,
5. turbofan 2-spool mixed
These most common engine types are included,
and more types to come soon !
- Engine design capabilities are included.
- Windows user interface -- user
friendly !
- Input basic parameters as shown left
(picture 1), then the
program will calculate the engine thrust, fuel consumption, and engine
internal states such as pressure and temperatures for you (picture 2,3).
- A
convenient file I/O utility is made, user could store the analysis cases
with ease.
- Help
button is added just hit the button for instructions of how to use.
- It
is ideal for model jet engine builders (you can call them turbosmith), who
might not have enough knowledge on the gas turbine theory.
- Engine
performance could now be predicted with ease, check this out (picture 4).
